AmliSeq - what makes it special?

    Hi All,

I might be a bit dense. Could you help me understand what makes the AmpliSeq protocol special?
    1. It seems to use multiplexed PCR primers with universal tags.
    2. These universal tags allow for a relatively unbiased amplification.
    3. The primers do contain uracil bases and thus can be cleaved off (the biggest part of them at last). Thus one does not have to sequence through them. The protocol requires adapter ligations , though.

Aside from the third point, the protocol does not seem to be unusual. Am I missing anything that would facilitate a very high degree of multiplexing of amplicons?

    Thanks in advance,
    Lutz
