gene searching in whole genome

I'm a beginner in bioinformatics field. And I would like to ask what is the simplest way to find one specific gene (I know more less the nucleotide sequence of it) in whole sequenced genome that I download from NCBI. In other words, how to search for a one defined sequence in whole genome. Could you advise me? Maybe some software or even a source where I could seek for an answer?

The best way is to use a genome browser software like for example Artemis. you upload you genome into the software and then you can navigate to any place of the genome with the criteria that satisfy you (sequence, gene,......etc)
