Cufflinks and nohup?

Is it possible to run cufflinks in background with nohup?

When I tried run is as below it didn't work

nohup path_to_cufflinks/cufflinks accepted_hits.bam &

Nohup file was created but it was empty.

As an alternative, I can recommend screen instead of nohup for this.

It not only allows running applications in the background, but also let's you reconnect (screen -x) later on.

In the past I even used the screen but I forget about it.
