  • alignment data for the 1000 genomes project

    Hi All,
I am interested in comparing my data with the 1000 genome data. I am trying to locate the alignment files and found and ftp site with all the samples at ftp://ftp.1000genomes.ebi.ac.uk/vol1/ftp/data/. However, there are only bam files for chromosomes 11 and 20. Is the data still not released or is there another link where I can download the data from

    Thanks for your help

If you want to compare whole genome data, then here

    ftp://ftp.1000genomes.ebi.ac.uk/vol1...h37_bams/data/

but 1000 genomes only did a CEU trio and a YRI trio with high coverage

You want to look at the mapped files to compare

All samples have low coverage and exome alignments in the directories you mentioned

chr11 and chr20 are being used as test cases. There should also be a mapped bam for every sample

If you find individuals which don't have mapped bams please let [email protected] know as this will be an error

      thanks

        Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
        by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
