  • export from MAQ to EagleViewer

    Hi,

I would like to know if someone has tried to export a MAQ map file to be able to see it on the EagleViewer (http://bioinformatics.bc.edu/marthlab/EagleView)

    maqview

    Why not just use maqview?

yes, i also have a problem with maqview. Maqview depends on OpenGl, which looks hard to install on my machine.

anybody know where to download and to install OpenGL?

      Thanks!

        Eagle view?

I would also like to know about this. I have paired end data and have been using maq succusfully but looking for a good viewer to support the alignments.

Maqview in theory would be great, but its difficult to build and their are compatibility problems with the new O.7.1.

But on a seperate but parrellel note, viewing the post-processed filtered alignments locally for the end user is many times perferable on a PC. As the GUI interface through Xterm isnt always possible or perferred.

Anyway, many people are having problems with maqview install not the utility or output of maqview but its installation and compatibility. I think its dependence on OPENGL has greated problems for us and others to install and there are problems using it with the latest maqview .maps.

Eagleview or Maqview would be a great complement to this system!

I tried eagleview last year, but ran into problems and never got them to fix!

Anyone else having experience with viewing maq alignments efficiently, and for free

            tview

The tview alignment viewer is very simplistic but I have found it better than maqview (it comes as part of samtools). You can convert a maq alignment to a binary SAM file using the maq2sam-long binary that comes with samtools.

Advanced Tools Transforming the Field of Cytogenomics
              by seqadmin

At the intersection of cytogenetics and genomics lies the exciting field of cytogenomics. It focuses on studying chromosomes at a molecular scale, involving techniques that analyze either the whole genome or particular DNA sequences to examine variations in structure and behavior at the chromosomal or subchromosomal level. By integrating cytogenetic techniques with genomic analysis, researchers can effectively investigate chromosomal abnormalities related to diseases, particularly...

How RNA-Seq is Transforming Cancer Studies
              by seqadmin

Cancer research has been transformed through numerous molecular techniques, with RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) playing a crucial role in understanding the complexity of the disease. Maša Ivin, Ph.D., Scientific Writer at Lexogen, and Yvonne Goepel Ph.D., Product Manager at Lexogen, remarked that “The high-throughput nature of RNA-seq allows for rapid profiling and deep exploration of the transcriptome.” They emphasized its indispensable role in cancer research, aiding in biomarker...
