In a data set I recently looked at, each SRR-lite file was from a different subject, and the SRX files appeared to be (454) instrument runs. So there were 5 SRXs and about 300 SRRs. I am not sure if that is a general phenomenon, but you hopefully can tell what is what by using the run browser.

It depends on what you want to do with the data. I didn't care about the individual subjects or runs and just wanted everything together.

Can you provide the actual accession number? Answer may be different depending on whether the data are from a multiplexed run or not.

    started a topic SRA - SRR*.lite.sra

    SRA - SRR*.lite.sra

    Dear group,

    I have a question about .lite.sra files.

For instance in a study there are 4 experiments (4 different SRX entries).

In each SRX entry, there are different number of SRR.lite.sra files.

for example SRX0001 there are 3 different SRR1.lite.SRA to SRR3.lite.SRA

Are these 3 different runs (meaning 3 different fastq files) or you combine 3 lite.SRA files into one fastq file.

What should be done. Please help.
    thanks
    Adrian
