    started a topic Hi!

    Hi!

Hey, my name is gumbit, and I'm just starting my bioinformatics journey.
I'm about 200 pages into Jones and Pevzner's Introduction to Bioinformatics Algorithms, and loving it (although stuck in 6.14).

I'm very interested in recombinant DNA research, and optimizing sequencing algorithms.

I'm open to any suggestions on good texts for a newbie wanting to learn to work with sequencing pipelines as well!

I look forward to learning and helping here. (shout out to Jon Keats whose thread I've been folowing)
