    POSITION: Research Computational Biologist/Molecular Biologist/Microbiologist

    LOCATION: Beltsville, MD

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The position is located in the Environmental and Food Microbial Safety Laboratory Animal and Natural Resources Institute, Beltsville, MD. The incumbent will characterize genome-level differences between zoonotic bacterial isolates from dairy cattle; will use existing methods or develop new technologies to interpret bacterial genomic data that is generated using high-throughput DNA sequencing technologies.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Recent Ph.D. in Computational Biology (Bioinformatics), Molecular Biology, Microbiology or closely related fields is required. Knowledge and understanding of standard bioinformatics methods, tools, and databases, and skill in computer programming is desirable.
