Is anyone aware if there are microRNAs transcribed from the mitochondrial genome? I have seen research on microRNAs (both immature and mature) that were found in mitochondria but were likely translocated nuclear microRNAs. I am curious as to whether the mitochondria make their own microRNA transcripts.
