Illumina Sample Purification Beads vs AMPure XP Beads

I have left over SPB from my Illumina kits, would they be OK to use as a substitute for AMPure XP beads? Provided they're still in date

Test them side-by-side with a series of different ratios and measure the results on a Bioanalyzer, gel, or equivalent.
