I'm a true beginner here (and a biologist). Trying to create my own annotation files for Visual Repbase. The format that is required has space for limited data: "The annotation file must be formatted as follows: start position (#), end
position (#), family, direction (d or c), similarity (integer between 0 and 100), and superfamily. Terms are tab-delimited; no commas". I find it difficult to understand how start and end positions could be given for an entire genome sequence that is divided into contigs?!?!?! Is there any way to come around this? Help would be greatly apreciated
