  • BioInfo Newbie: Analyzing a list of gene

    Hi,

I am new to bioinfo. I have a list of gene with their NM IDs. I want to do some brief descriptive analysis and see how many of them are coding genes and their putative function.

Is there any online tool that can do this? I am thinking of DAVID and GREAT, but do they include coding vs noncoding as output?

    Thanks.

    Jason

By "NM ID" I am assuming you mean you have a list of RefSeq accession numbers. RefSeq accessions which start with "NM" are used for mRNA sequences so they are, by definition, coding. See the RefSeq accession descriptions here.
