Hi Everyone,
I'm attempting to use soapdenovo and I can't find a lot of information on the output.contig file. Soap's website states that the header indicates the edge index, length, kmer coverage, whether it's the tip, and the sequence.
Does anyone know what edge index and tip mean?
I'm trying to assemble genes (not genome) by blasting against the paired read databases and pulling out reads that match - they are 100 bp long. I just don't know what sequence to use from the output file and I think understanding the headers might help.
For example: 79 length 591 cvg_12.4_tip_1
