The quality control index or parameter of the whole genome de novo sequencing

1.How do I evaluate the quality of the whole genome de novo sequencing? From what index or parameter to evaluate it？

2.About the number of gap: if we assume that the genome size of some species is 20M, then in the de novo sequencing, how many the top limit standard of the gaps can we tolerate if the repeat sequence is not so high?
