Well, they are not straight-forward. Still, there is no explanation of KEGG categories.

started a topic KEGG database questions

    KEGG database questions

Hello, I have some basic questions about KEGG database. As far as I know, they have three types of classification: KO functions, KEGG Pathway Categories (KO), KEGG Pathways (KO, KEGG Orthology). They also have KEGG Pathway Categories (EC), KEGG Pathways (EC).

1> I want to the hierarchical levels. I know KO functions is lowest level. KEGG pathway and pathway categories. Which is the intermediate level. and which is highest level?

2>Where can I find the list of KEGG Pathways (KO) and KEGG Pathways Categories (KO). They should have a list something like cabon fixation pathways, nitrogen list etc.

3> For the EC (KEGG Pathway Categories (EC), KEGG Pathways (EC).), I think it means something about enzyme. I was wondering what is the relationship between EC and KO. Does EC database also created and maintained by Kyoto University? Why it doesn't have the level like KO functions? Whey they create two EC and KO. Weird.

4> Also, where can I see the the list of KEGG Pathways (EC) and KEGG Pathways Categories (EC).

    Thanks.

Exploring the Dynamics of the Tumor Microenvironment
    by seqadmin

The complexity of cancer is clearly demonstrated in the diverse ecosystem of the tumor microenvironment (TME). The TME is made up of numerous cell types and its development begins with the changes that happen during oncogenesis. “Genomic mutations, copy number changes, epigenetic alterations, and alternative gene expression occur to varying degrees within the affected tumor cells,” explained Andrea O’Hara, Ph.D., Strategic Technical Specialist at Azenta. “As...
