Anyone, who knows"1 million human genomes resequencing project"?

1 million human genomes resequencing project,it is said that which aims to complete 1 million human genome resequencing by 2016.
Anyone knows more details? Please tell me or give some links!!thanks a million!

what about a little patience? It was 4:20 AM in Europe when you posted your question!!

BTW: I've never heard of the 1 Million human genome project

How much to sequence 1 million human genomes in 2016? I have heard current costs for very large amount of sequence as running around $100/billion bases of raw sequence.

So, currently, presuming all we need is 20x coverage or 60 billion bases per genome -- that would be $6000 per genome.

Okay, what do we expect raw prices to be in 2016? Maybe 1/10,000ths the price? That would be $600,000 for 1 million genomes. Well, let's throw in another $400,000 for computers and call it an even $1 million. (Just joking about the computational costs...)

Maybe this is just a project.you know ,just like this kind of huge project. Most of time will call on co-worker from the world.as to the expenses .that's the problem of decision maker.
aha, thank you give us an accurate calculations about your reason./that's why our decision maker like to do it.because that's the point they want.no one can not finish it but them.
On the other hand.let's think positive, they maybe expect to collect more genome data for human, that's the real .

                    by seqadmin

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for proactive pathogen surveillance systems. As ongoing threats like avian influenza and newly emerging infections continue to pose risks, researchers are working to improve how quickly and accurately pathogens can be identified and tracked. In a recent SEQanswers webinar, two experts discussed how next-generation sequencing (NGS) and machine learning are shaping efforts to monitor viral variation and trace the origins of infectious...

Investigating the Gut Microbiome Through Diet and Spatial Biology
                    by seqadmin

The human gut contains trillions of microorganisms that impact digestion, immune functions, and overall health1. Despite major breakthroughs, we’re only beginning to understand the full extent of the microbiome’s influence on health and disease. Advances in next-generation sequencing and spatial biology have opened new windows into this complex environment, yet many questions remain. This article highlights two recent studies exploring how diet influences microbial...
