Hello,
I was thinking of this machine ( https://www.system76.com/desktops/model/leox3 ) as a bioinformatics workstation. I realise that there are some potential downsides to non-ECC RAM, like silent errors - but that seems to be very rare, or unlikely to happen.
If I go with an ECC equipped machine, it will cost me an arm and two legs.
