    Housekeeping Genes in Lymphoma

A seemingly very simple question, but not one that I can find the answer to from experts or the literature.

I am using NanoString to look at pathway signalling in aggressive B cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Our preliminary data showed very variable expression of the included HKs (ACTB, TUBB, GAPDH) so in future iterations we are going to use TBF which has been validated in one or two papers.

Any other ideas? Does anyone have experience regarding this?
I thought we could look through old affymetrix data for consistent expression of certain genes but our biostats person does not seem keen on this approach.

    Any ideas very welcome.

Genorm is often used in Real-Time experiments.

The basic idea is that you need to determine a geometric mean for your expression data, and normalize to that. Simply, if you have 50 or even better, 100's of genes, determine a geometric mean of the population of expression, and normalize to that median expression measurement.

HK genes is the way we use to normalize data when we couldn't interrogate more than a few genes cost-effectively.

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
      by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
      by SEQadmin2

Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
