CLUSTAL W vs mega

I would like to do multiple sequence alignment but I am wondering which of the two is better (Clustal W vs MEGA). Advise

Either would be fine for doing a plain MSA. If you are going to do phylogenetic analysis then MEGA would be preferred.

ClustalW is a general purpose alignment algorithm that is available as a standalone program and is also incorporated in MEGA.

ClustalW is now being superseded by a new tool called clustal omega (specially for protein sequences).
