Hello, is there a way to remove bacterial contamination from plant tissue before sequencing? We are planning on washing the tissue with weak bleach to kill the bacteria from the surface of the tissue. Any opinions on that? Or other suggestions? Thanks.

You can try agar embedding method (if interested read this study on this method). Also I know Cl2 gas for example is quite effective. Sure you can identify the bacteria and use antibiotic against the same, still be very cautious with it (here's an interesting study on it http://www.level.com.tw/html/ezcatfi...nation-COR.pdf)cheers,
