  • NGS Bioinformatics Programmer for Rochester, MN

    We are seeking candidates for a NGS Bioinformatics programmer position with our client Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Candidate will work in a team who are Developing tools necessary to implement a wide range of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) tests from small gene panels to Whole Genome Sequencing, to the Epigenome and Microbiome tests. This is a one year position and could extend or hired as full-time employee at the end of the assignment. Required Qualifications are Next Generation Sequencing knowledge of software variant alignment and callers as well as methods and best practices. Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and experience with developing software pipelines that execute genetics tests from instrument data handling through Patient results analysis. Skilled in the validation and testing of NGS pipelines, generating Golden Data sets and working to verify fully functional systems. Background in creating and managing production IT solutions for Genetics and/or Bioinformatics a plus. Software development skills using Python, Bash scripting is required.
