Postdoctoral Fellow: Computational/Statistical Genomics
The group of Jonathan Göke at the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) is looking for an enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow in computational or statistical genomics. Our main research focus is the large-scale analysis of gene expression ('transcriptomics'). We apply state of the art technology at the GIS to study how the transcriptome reflects clinical and molecular phenotypes. We analyse large scale transcriptomics data from cell lines, patient samples, and organoid models using bulk RNA-Sequencing, single cell RNA-Sequencing, long read sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics. Projects are available that involve methods development for new transcriptomics technology (single cell RNA-Seq, long read RNA-Seq), statistical modeling of biases in high throughput sequencing data, and integration of electronic health records with genomics data.
Benefits:
The Genome Institute of Singapore offers a competitive salary and a complete benefits package that ensures a very high living standard in one of the most modern cities in the world.

About the Genome Institute of Singapore
The Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS, A*STAR) is the national flagship programme for genomic science in Singapore. GIS hosts the largest collection of sequencing machines in Singapore, it has a compute cluster with more than 6,000 CPUs and more than 3 PB storage capacity, and a direct high-speed connection to the National Supercomputing Center Singapore.
Why Singapore?
Singapore is a city-state with one of the highest standards of living in the world seeking to become an international hub for the biomedical sciences. Singapore is a vibrant, tropical city, with rich Asian heritage and modern style of living, an ideal gateway to explore Asia, providing a unique experience and an excellent quality of life.
