Technical Assistant/Associate position at the Whitehead Institute/MIT, Cambridge MA
Seeking highly motivated individual to play a key role in a cutting-edge research program studying transcriptional regulation during differentiation of stem cells into motor neurons.
Candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team to study the regulatory circuitry of differentiation using chromatin immunoprecipitation techniques coupled with high-data content technologies like Next-Generation Sequencing on the Illumina platform (ChIP-Seq) and Microarrays (ChIP-Chip).
Excellent molecular biology skills in a laboratory setting are a must. Experience with chromatin immunoprecipitation a significant plus. Some data handling and basic analysis may be included so proficiency with computers is recommended. This position requires regular interaction with team members so communication and collaboration are primary attributes of the ideal candidate.
This position will provide ample opportunities to participate in shaping the scientific program. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a biology related field and proficiency with basic molecular biology techniques as demonstrated by at least 2 years of bench level molecular biology experience.
Post-doc or Research Scientist level applicants will also be considered. Job title and compensation are commensurate with the experience level of the best applicant.
