  • Access Your DNA Sequences and Projects Anywhere

As more online DNA design tools become available, it should be easier to access your work and collaborate with colleagues. Unfortunately, most molecular biology softwares require you to work from one specific computer for which you have purchased an expensive license. This greatly limits the capability to share your work with colleagues, or even work on your own project from any location of your choosing.

One of the greatest advantages of Genome Compiler software (a free DNA design software) is the user's ability to access data - including projects, primer and plasmid libraries from any where and any computer. Using the software, it is easy to share projects with others or manage your lab's DNA sequences and projects.

Read more about how to easily access and share your data.

Is this actually "free" (as in ..., your know the expression)? What is the business model for the "enterprise"? I assume you are associated with this company.

It seems they can synthesize the constructs and also use them in case another group is making the same constructs... Kind of spyware...
      Rutia, can you better explain?

Moving to Vendor Forum. Clearly commercial content.

Yes, I am. The software is free indeed for all academia users whereas the enterprise edition is per license.

Definitely not a spyware. Data and projects that you are working on are secured, private and and only you can access it. You can share it with your colleagues, but in any case you have the control who can view / edit it.

Genome Compiler does not synthesize constructs. The software is a DNA design and visualization tool (such as Vector NTI) which is convenient for cloning, primer design, sequence annotation, alignment, etc.

Then the license agreement has to be corrected....

              7. Bio-Security Compliance. Genome Compiler reserves the right to refuse any order to synthesize gene sequences, whether such sequence was designed using the Software or by use of any other design tool, for reasons of non-compliance with bio-security regulations, standards or practices. Without limiting the foregoing, you undertake not to misuse the Software for design or manufacture of gene sequences that do not comply with any bio-security regulations or with generally accepted industry standards and practices.
8.3. Furthermore, upon placing an order, Genome Compiler will be entitled (but not obliged) to record the gene sequence designed and ordered by you, for use in the production of synthesized genes designed and order by other users of the Software, whether such other designs are the same as, or share certain similarities with, the design made by you. For clarification, Genome Compiler will not, without your permission, publically display your design or other work products or otherwise share them with (or allow them to be accessed by) other users, but where Genome Compiler detects a design that has been made independently by another user and which shares certain patterns or features with your design, it may refer to your design for purposes of streamlining the production of such similar design. Likewise, in the production of your design, Genome Compiler may draw on information previously collated from designs of other users who had placed orders for gene sequences containing similarities to yours.

Recent Advances in Sequencing Analysis Tools
                by seqadmin

The sequencing world is rapidly changing due to declining costs, enhanced accuracies, and the advent of newer, cutting-edge instruments. Equally important to these developments are improvements in sequencing analysis, a process that converts vast amounts of raw data into a comprehensible and meaningful form. This complex task requires expertise and the right analysis tools. In this article, we highlight the progress and innovation in sequencing analysis by reviewing several of the...

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
                by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...
