    Microbial DNA extraction

    Dear Experts,
    I am planning my 1st metagenomic project and have to extract microbial DNA from oral tissues. I am not sure which method to use, as there is no consensus for microbial gDNA extraction technique. Will commercially available kits like Qiagen All prep DNA/RNA kit or QIAmpDNA kit is fine to use?Another query of mine is if we use these kits , isn't human gDNA will be in abundance and can create problems during subsequent steps?
    Please suggest any kit or methods, specific for microbial gDNA isolation.
