    miRNA primary vs. secondary targets?

    Hi,

    I was wondering if somebody can provide me with an explanation of primary(direct) and secondary(indirect) miRNA targets.

    Are the primary targets the ones that are directly targeted by miRNAs (predicted based on sequence conservation) and secondary targets the ones that may be are involved in an affected pathway? Does this make sense?

    any help would be greatly appreciated.
