I bought a 64GB RAM PC recently. But I am new to sequence assembly. I heard that SOAP de novo is a good program for this. But where can I download some data to feed it? Thanks a lot!

With 64GB of RAM you'll likely need to restrict your self to small genomes in the hundreds of Megabases or less (depending on exactly what software you use). If your looking for some open data to have a go with, try http://assemblathon.org/ or the German Ecoli datasets for example http://climb.genomics.cn/Ecoli_TY-2482

There is an example in the how-to page of seqanswers, where they use Ecoli data;

The immune system’s power comes from its genetic diversity, allowing myriad threats to be neutralized through first recognizing foreign antigens. That diversity is also what makes the immune system so difficult to study. Recent advances in sequencing technology and computational biology, however, are giving researchers new tools to understand immune responses and immune-related diseases in greater detail.
This convergence of genetics, immunology, and computation...-
