mapreduce tool for a non java developer

Hello,

I've started learning about HADOOP and implicit to that I need to learn a tool to write MAPREDUCE applications for NGS tasks. I've seen there are a few of them like PIG, HIVE and JAQL.

I would be grateful if someone could point me to a suitable tool given that I'm not a java developer.

Check out "Hadoop streaming", which lets you write Hadoop apps using any language (however there are some restrictions on what you can do).

Then there are things like Pydoop (http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawik...itle=Main_Page) which is a Python framework for Hadoop.
