    Use BedTools in R package

    Dear friends and colleagues,

I wonder if anyone knows how to build an R package that can compile BedTools c source code as there are quite a few functions in BedTools that are very useful to my R software package I am trying implement.

Or if there already exists some BedTools equivalent R packages?

    Thanks in advance,

I don't know of any. I only just recently realized there is a python implementation of the BedTools suite providing wrappers for all of the BedTools functions. It requires BedTools to be installed on the system because it doesn't do much more than provide an interface to the program that's already installed on the system. Maybe there's a simple way to do the same thing in R.
