    Difference between dbsnp131, dbsnp132 and dbsnp135

    Hi,
I try to understand the diference betweend dbsnp131, dbsnp132 and dbsnp135.
Why there are three human polymorphism databases? For me it seems that dbsnp135 include all entries from 131 and 132. Why new databases are created, instead of extending the current ones? It's no clear enough for me.

    Thx for a reply

I think it is for backward compatibility.

Well, actually they are extending each other. What you are referring to isn't actually new databases, they are new builds of a database.
A new build consists of the older known entries plus new ones (and possibly removed, incorrect entries). This is quite common (and good) practice for database maintainers. It makes life much easier in comparing analyses from older publications, given that the authors reference which build of a given database they used.

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
        by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
        by SEQadmin2

Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
