    BLAST stand-alone instalation

    Hello everyone,
Since days am trying to install blast locally on my machine using cygen.
I downloaded and gezipt blast 2.2.24 normaly including all files.
Then as per NCBI instruction, I created .ncbirc file in bin directory.
Unfortunately, wen I try to fromat database using formatedb command, I get the following error message (cannot execute binary file)

I really fed up, can anyone help?

Check execute privileges or just try:

    Chmod a+x yourbinaryfile

From memory I think the 'formatdb' command is with previous versions of blast. Blast 2.XXX uses 'makeblastdb' , which does the same thing but with more options.

Do you have 32 bit linux and try running 64bit or solaris version? -> then use 32 bit version (not 64 bit one), otherwise check platform compatibility and dowbload correct version of the file for your's platform.

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
            by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
            by SEQadmin2

Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
