What do you mean by it "doesn't work"?

What did you run (the exact command line), and what was the error message or behaviour you saw? Also what version of Java do you have?

in step 7 on it asked me to change the db-host, name and password in the Blast2GO database configuration window, what do I change the db-host, name, and password into in the configuration window.

The server name (or IP address should work too) of the server you have installed the Blast2Go database on, and the database username and password you setup for that database. You may also need to open the firewall on the relevant port too.

If this wasn't clear to you, you will struggle to set this all up. You should talk to your local Linux systems administrators who may be able to help you.

In step 5 on http://www.blast2go.com/b2glaunch/re.../35-localb2gdb you need to import the latest mysql database dump. How do you import this in mysql shell?

Also can you do step 6 first before you do step 5?

good pointers here though regarding local installation of Blast2GO database! hoping this will light a fire under the whole excruciating slow process of doing it over their server.
