Lack of insertions in my SV calls with Breakdancer

    Hello all,

I am analyzing a cohort of 10 patients for SVs. Approximately half of the patients report no INSs, while the others do. I am seeing what appears to be a normal (the standard seen in the other patients) number of calls for all the other SVs.

Trying to troubleshoot this issue, as the number of INSs should be higher than the other calls based on the results that showed INSs, and having zero in some of the patients calls my whole pipeline into question. Could it be an issue with my aligner? Doesn't appear to be related to sequence quality, as most of my data is fairly similar and there is no division between those that have INS and those that don't.

Is there is a parameter that I could change to increase sensitivity to INSs.

If anyone has an idea what could be going on, please let me know

16S/ITS Profiling vs. Shotgun Metagenomics: What Changes in Your Workflow?
    by SEQadmin2

NGS has revolutionized clinical microbiology by offering new ways to identify and surveil pathogens without prior knowledge of the target. One popular approach is 16S rRNA and ITS amplicon sequencing, which targets specific microbial markers. But studies are increasingly incorporating shotgun metagenomics, a technique that sequences all DNA from a sample without targeting specific microbial markers. This approach allows more detailed taxonomic classification, detection...

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
    by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating
