    Consed: strange graphics

    Dear all,

    currently I am trying to edit a sanger/illumina mixed assembly with
    consed. Here is a fragment of a screenshot:



    I would like to draw your attention to the little horizontal yellow
    bar connecting contig00056 and contig00057. This bar is not clickable.
    These bars are found several times in the assembly view window.

    Any idea what it means?

    Data variability is still an issue in sequencing technologies despite the advances in reproducibility and accuracy of these platforms. But the problem does not originate in the sequencing itself, but in the previous steps, before the sample reaches the sequencer.

    The first step is collection, followed by preservation and sample preparation for analysis. Most scientists overlook those steps, but not being careful might just be skewing the experiment’s results.
