Btrim 'moving window'

I'm trimming some FastQ files using Btrim, and it's a little unclear from the program publication what's going on. For example, if I have a sequence with basepairs numbered 1-15, and I'm using a trimming window of 5, does it look at windows 1-5, 6-10, and 11-15, or does it look at windows 1-5, 2-6, 3-7, etc.?

In other words, is it a 'walking' or 'hopping' window?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.
