    Newbler 2.7

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone installed Newbler 2.7 on Ubuntu 12.10. I succeeded in in reaching the installation process but the installation keeps failing. I am trying to install newbler on the amazon EC2 instance.

Can anyone tell me where the log file for the installation is found because it cannot be displayed using the installer.

Initially I had the error - could not execute rpm command

I installed rpm packages to run it but still the installation is failing.

    Any help is much appreciated

    Thank you.

Not sure about the log file, but there have been several threads in the 454 subforum discussing installation on Ubuntu. I would think you should be able to find the information you need in one of those threads. Here's a recent one: http://seqanswers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25339

It would also help if you would post exactly what you have done and what the error message is.
As ajthomas already stated there have been quite a few posts discussing these issue(s).

Hi, I managed to make it work but I could not use the installer. I compiled it in BIolinux 7 and then ran the compiled version on the server itself.

        Hope it helps

        Thank you for your help.

Why couldn't you use the installer and what have you compiled to run on your server?

Take a look here. The installer wouldn't work on Ubuntu for me, but the guys in this thread gave me a simple solution

Proteomic Platforms: How to Choose the Right Analytical Strategy to Improve Detection and Clinical Applications
              by SEQadmin2

Proteomics platforms are evolving rapidly, with advances in mass spectrometry and affinity-based approaches expanding what researchers can detect and at what scale. As the field moves toward deeper proteome coverage and clinical applications, scientists face an increasingly complex landscape of tools. This article will explore how researchers are navigating these choices to find the right platform for their work.

The systematic characterization of the human proteome has

Advanced Sequencing Platforms Tackle Neuroscience’s Toughest Genomics Problems
              by SEQadmin2

Genomics studies in neuroscience face a special challenge due to the brain’s complexity and scarcity of samples. Mapping changes in cell type and state using conventional next-generation sequencing methods remains challenging. Advances in technologies like single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and long-read sequencing have opened the door to deeper studies of the brain and diseases like Alzheimer’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and schizophrenia.

Cancer Drug Resistance: The Lingering Barrier to Rising Survival
              by SEQadmin2

Cancer survival rates have significantly increased in the last few decades in the United States, reaching a combined 70% 5-year survival rate by 2021. Behind this number, there are years of research to find new therapies, drug targets, and early detection methods. But there is one core challenge that keeps slowing down these advances, and it’s about drug resistance.

There is no single reason why many patients don’t respond to treatment as expected. Cancer is...
