    shell script help

    I've tried searching for this but can't find out why this doesn't work.

    In a terminal directly when I use

    join -t $'\t' file1 file2

    this works fine, but when I add this to a bash script

    #!/bin/bash

    join -t $'\t' $1 $2

    I get this error:
    join: multi-character tab `$\\t'

    I've tried various combinations of single/double quotes, without '$' , etc, but I can't seem to get this working within the script.
    How can i specifiy a separator within bash script?
    I'm using Ubuntu Linux.

    This should work for bash:
    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    foo=1.txt
    bar=2.txt
    join -t "`echo -e '\t'`" $foo $bar >foobar.txt
    1.txt:
    Code:
    1       abc
    2       lmn
    3       pqr
    2.txt:
    Code:
    1       abc
    3       lmn
    foobar.txt:
    Code:
    1       abc     abc
    3       pqr     lmn

      Thanks, it worked, but without the '-e' option for echo

        Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
        by SEQadmin2

        Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

        Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

        New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
        by SEQadmin2

        Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

        We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
