IGV - accessing BAM file from different server

    Hi:

Is it possible to load a bam file located in a cluster server into IGV. I do not want to download bam file to Mac from server and load in IGV.

    thanks

Why not run IGV from the cluster and project the display back to your Mac using XQuartz (X11)?

Well, you can load from a URL, but I can't vouch for how fast that really is. Can you just mount a shared file system from the cluster? On our cluster, for example, the $HOME directory is on a shared server that I can mount on my Mac at home (via a VPN connection) or my desktop computer in the lab. That makes things relatively convenient.
