    GRCh38 ("hg20") ???

Earlier this year I read that the next "canonical" human genome build will be "summer 2013".

Anybody know if it's still on schedule?

Also, Should there be a canonical "milestone" build for this ?

Can we avoid the "GRch37/GRCh37-lite/HG19_Broad_variant" hassle this time?

It is largely on schedule so far as I know. GRC is finalizing the last bits. They are trying best to reduce the number of variants of GRCh38.

Personally, I would prefer to call the reference genome as GRCh37/38 instead of hg19/hg20.
