    ChiP-Seq experiment 101

    Hey,

    using ChiP-Seq one can find DNA-Binding sites etc. Therefore you have to know the protein binding to the promoter region (right?). Is there any indication of how many Proteins one can tag? So, is there a maximum of Proteins to survey at once?

    Well, typically you do ChIP-seq by performing an IP with an antibody raised against your protein of interest. So then you're just doing one protein at a time (unless your antibody targets a protein complex, in which case you're getting whatever exactly the antibody is specific for). I suppose you could also epitope tag a bunch of proteins and then use the appropriate antibody to get all of them, but I expect that'd be much more work.

      I do regular ChIP a lot. and usually, you can only look at one Transcription factor at once.
