I am doing some analysis using XHMM. I was adviced to use a value of 12 as the mean number of targets. Being a recent convert to bioinformatics, I am a bit confused about what a target is? The output gives a variable called NUM_TARG. Is target in XHMM the same as markers in VarScan2? OR does a target correspond to 1 EXON? Does it have any relationship to the mean number of targets. I would really appreciate if some one who has used XHMM could enlighten me a bit.
