    Hi,


    I got the following error message for several sequences (formatdb.log)

    Version 2.2.25 [Feb-01-2011]
    Started database file "sapiens.fa"
    WARNING: [000.000] Sequence number 1 (lcl|1_homosapiens), 139 illegal characters were removed:
    31 Es, 19 Fs, 12 Is, 32 Ls, 28 Ps, 17 Qs

    sapiens.fa file contains 77545 fasta sequences

    Can you help?

    You should post the actual command and details about your input file. Anyway, my guess is that you're trying to create a nucleotide db from protein sequences.

      Indeed I try to create a nucleotide db from protein sequences.

      formatdb -i sapiens.fa -p F -n homosapiens
      Now,
      Code:
      formatdb -i sapiens.fa -p T -n homosapiens
