question on nr, nt database on Blast2go

Hi all,
I have questions about what differentiates these databases.

At NCBI, nr/nt is one thing i.e. Nucleotide collection and redundant, but at blast2go, nr and nt are 2 separate database for blasting, please explain for me ? what exactly these database mean?

At NCBI they are two different things as well. 'nr' is a database of protein sequences and 'nt' is nucleotide. At one time 'nr' meant non-redundant but it stopped being non-redundant a while ago.

nt is a nucleotide database, while nr is a protein database (in amino acids). They both contain a bunch of random sequences. So, for example, a non-coding piece of DNA may hit something in nt but not in nr, and mapping DNA to nr requires translating into 6 possible reading frames.
