installation can't find TRF programme

when I install RepeatMasker,I need to fill the path of TRF program:, but when I filled, the configure tell me:



**TRF INSTALLATION PATH**

This is the path to the location where
the TRF program can be found. This is used by the RepeatProteinMask program.

Enter path [ ]: /var/biosoft/RepeatMasker/TRF
/var/biosoft/RepeatMasker/TRF does not exist
/var/biosoft/RepeatMasker/TRF does not appear to contain the trf program.

but the TRF is really there!

I have solved this problem!

cp TRF trf
the computer can't recgnize 'trf.pm' or 'TRF' but 'trf'
that is ok~

I've the same problem, even I don't know if I've installed the TRF program with the RepeatMasker download. Where can I find the TRF program??

trf comes pre-compiled. Just put it somewhere:

$ mv trf404.linux64 /usr/local/bin/

rename it to "trf"

$ mv /usr/local/bin/trf404.linux64 /usr/local/bin/trf

change permissions, etc.

When running RepeatMasker config:

$ perl ./configure

the prompt asking for the trf path wants JUST the directory:
/usr/local/bin/

whereas the previous two questions wanted the explicit path:
/usr/local/bin/RepeatMasker/RepeatMasker
