Hello all,
I was wondering about the possibility of generation of updated array annotations as the new gene annotations become available. It's particularly interesting in case of mouse and human arrays, since there is so much published and well-structured data out there. However if you take the annotation it would deviate from modern annotations quite a lot.
We technically know the sequences of array probes. Can we try and update the array annotation based on the latest, state-of-the-art assembly and annotation of say human genome?
If you could point me to relevant discussions, papers, and reviews, I'd be most grateful. Or if you don't think it's an idea worth working on, I'd like to hear why. Thank you in advance!
