  • New Release of iPathwayGuide

    Hi all,

    Thanks to the many people who have helped us with the development and testing of our web application, iPathwayGuide.

    We just released the latest version in advance of the 2014 ASHG meeting is San Diego, CA Starting this weekend.

    Since we started this project we have had over 1,000 users from almost every country imaginable around the world! It's been truly amazing! Thank you.

    Our application goes far beyond simple gene set enrichment. We calculate the perturbations within each system and help you identify putative mechanisms within the pathway that explain the measurements from your experiment.

    Our latest release now includes the following:

    * Support for Human, Mouse, Rat
    * Accepts input from CuffDiff, DESeq(2), GEO2R/Limma, JMP Genomics, and any custom *.txt file
    * In-app help videos (just click the "!")
    * Predicted microRNAs (based on mRNA data)
    * Genes analysis
    * GO Analysis
    * Pathway Analysis with Downstream Perturbation Analysis
    * Modeling of Drugs, SNPs, and miRNAs on the pathways
    * Diseases Analysis
    * Full export capabilities
    * Easily share reports with friends and colleagues

    Best of all this is still FREE! Please use it as much as possible and tell your friends and colleagues. If you have suggestions on how to make it better, please let us know.

    Thank you again to all who have helped us make this a great resource.

    Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
    by seqadmin

    The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

    Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
    by seqadmin

    Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
