    How to get phage-host association?

    Hello everyone

I was wondering if there is a tool to get the phage-host association from the name of a phage. It would be great even to only get the family or genus of the host.

I have a lot of data since there are from metagenomic sequencing and I can't check them by hand.

    Thank you in advance

Surely you should assemble the data, identify and viral DNA by blasting your contigs. Look for contigs with both viral and bacterial DNA. Ensure it isnt just a single bacterial gene in a viral genome and then blast has already told you the viral and bacterial genes present so you can look at the families of the blast results. Dont think there is a specific tool otherwise and especially not for a metagenomic dataset (asssuming your dataset is large to ensure decent coverage).

There is no specirfic tool. I have been looking for a program that will do the same on metagenomic data but had to write a load of code myself to try and work around the issues. May I ask is your data viral enriched or not?

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
        by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
        by SEQadmin2

Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
