    Amos/MuMMer/Minimus2 postnuc running multikmer assembly

    Hello,

I am using the following protocol to Merge a multikmer assembly using CDHit && Amos.
    protocol: http://ged.msu.edu/angus/metag-assem...et-multik.html

However, after running minimus2, it just hangs on step 20. It has been 6 days now. I was wondering if the software usually takes long on step 20. I dont see any erros on the log file. Have anyone experience anything like this?

    Command used:
    > minimus2 all-gjcombs &
    [1] 44931
    [root@b30-fac-staff-134-71-20-58 gerjamdata]# The log file is: all-gjcombs.runAmos.log
Doing step 10: Building AMOS bank & Dumping reads
    Doing step 11
    Doing step 12
    Doing step 13
    Doing step 20: Getting overlaps

The following is the log file output for minimus2:

    !!! 2014-11-04 13:18:13 Running: /root/Downloads/MUMmer3.23/nucmer -maxmatch -c 40 all-gjcombs.ref.seq all-gjcombs.qry.seq -p all-gjcombs

Multiomic Liquid Biopsy: What DNA/RNA Panels Reveal That DNA Alone Can’t
    by SEQadmin2

Tumors contain complex mixtures of cell populations that evolve in response to treatment and host-specific factors. Tissue biopsies provide only static snapshots of a tumor’s state. But what if we could follow that evolution over time using a minimally invasive technique?

Liquid biopsies can detect tumor-derived material circulating in the bloodstream, providing a way to study treatment response, detect emerging resistance, and discover new biomarkers. Circulating

New Genomics Technologies Take Aim at Long-Standing Limits
    by SEQadmin2

Researchers using sequencing and genomics tools often have to make trade-offs. They can choose between speed or scale, short reads or long-range information, or targeted panels or a view of the whole transcriptome. New technologies that have been released this year are built to address those tough choices.

We asked six companies the same four questions to learn about their latest products. The new technologies bring a lot to the table, including rethinking sequencing
