Analysing Ribosome Profiling data

Hi

I would like to know of any tool/package for analyzing the Ribosome profiling data(Translatome data). Is there any protocol I can follow for analysing the RBP data. Please guide me

Hi dena,

I work a bit with ribosome profiling data informatics, so I may be of some help. Can you clarify what specifically interests you, in terms of downstream analyses? Do you want to have visualisation of RPF's mapping to a given transcript, a graph that shows translatome wide framing distribution or transcript specific framing distribution, differential expression analyses of translation/post-transcriptional activity, etc.?

Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.
