  • GBS by Hiseq & NGS

    Hello,
Can anyone give me some insight into GBS by NGS as well by Hiseq?.

    Thanks

Are you looking for specific help with something? Otherwise a google/bing search for "GBS by NGS" brings up plenty of articles.

There are lots of ways to do GBS and lots of reasons for doing GBS. Most people doing GBS are doing it in a species without a lot of genomic resources, making fixed content genotyping platforms (like Fluidigm) difficult to set up. Others have a good reference genome but like that GBS will report on novel SNPs not assayed by a fixed-content platform. There are trade-offs... GBS is not at the same throughput possible as fixed-content systems and the turnaround time will be greater. There is less control over what is being genotyped, so you can't just pick 1,000 SNPs of interest and check those specifically.

          Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
          by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
